Discover peony, the luxury sustainable swimwear brand named after the bloom that signals the beginning of summer.
A life-long love affair with the ocean gave peony its authenticity and purpose. It’s thoughtful collection of swimwear is an essential for a sun-drenched escape to paradise, inspiring confidence and joy with each wear. A sense of timelessness exists within each collection, allowing pieces to become treasured mementos of summers gone by and to come.
As the leading new guard in the next generation of conscious fashion, peony champions sustainability and is the eco-pioneer in the swimwear category. It uses only premium sustainable fabrics such as Italian made Econyl (used for all printed fabrics), a 100% regenerative nylon created from ocean debris.
For it’s custom textured fabrics, peony has developed its own sustainable fabrics in-house. These fabrics are incredibly unique and made from up to 97% recycled content.
Since beginning its journey towards sustainability in 2017, the charismatic brand has taken leaps and bounds. With its eco-pioneering efforts and innate charm, peony is now recognised as a global leader in luxury sustainable swimwear.
Their fabrications contain up to 97% recycled content. The percentage of recycled content is largely dependant on the design and structure of the fabric.
So, what does this actually mean?
In short, regular nylon is made from non-renewable petroleum oil which is a significant contributor to global warming.
Recycled nylon differs from this because it is made by regenerating nylon goods that are already in existence, thus saving the earth’s resources and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the fabric.
When you choose Peony swimwear styles made from recycled and sustainable fabric, you are helping to clean oceans, clear landfills and re-use nylon waste.
Your choice results in reduced carbon emissions and greatly saves the earth’s precious resources.
We are proud to use EconylTM for all our printed styles. The use of EconylTM reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared to material made from non-renewable petroleum oil.
Further, for every 10,000 tons of Econyl raw material, Econyl is able to save 70,000 barrels of crude oil and avoid 57,100 tonnes of CO2 eq. emissons.
We believe that fashion and sustainability can co-exist and we are passionately committed to driving change.
